SMALL ISP NETWORK, NEEDS ADVICE

Hi guys! good day, i currently have a Small Network with 300 PPPoE Clients and a bandwidth throughput of 1gb and below. I currently don’t have an issue with my network i just wanna ask some things like: what do i need to optimize for a better network? things to look out for with my growing network and etc…i know i should get a network engineer but i have some knowledge about networking and maybe i know the things you advice, thanks and an answer would be much appreciated!

ps: This is a FTTH Network and i use 10G rate between my devices.

If you’re looking for general design guidance, here are some resources that i’ve written/recorded from designing and building hundreds of ISPs as a consultant

Separation of network functions - a design philosophy that compartmentalizes the config required for certain tasks to enable simpler operation and easier scale. Not every ISP will need every function or redundancy of functions at every site, but this webinar/drawing will give you an overview of the concepts.

PPPoE scale and redundancy - using PADO offset, multiple BRAS routers can be used in the same L2 domain to scale the workload and enable failover

Guide to selecting a routing architecture - Although this is geared towards WISPs, most WISPs these days are a hybrid of FISP and WISP so the routing designs in this article can be used for a FISP just as easily.

First hint:

i know i should get a network engineer
Follow your hint

Second:

i have some knowledge about networking and maybe…
It’s an assumption that makes you fail right from the start

Third:

Small Network with 300 PPPoE Clients and a bandwidth throughput of 1gb and below
This is a FTTH Network and i use 10G rate between my devices.
“Truly” a request full of useful details to suggest something other than the first hint to you…
