We’re seeing some small packet loss pinging devices through
the Mikrotik router [2.9.8] - but no loss pinging from the Router
itself to both sides of the network.
Loss is about 1% when passing through it, any suggestions?

What is the packet rate when you are testing?
Is it ethernet to ethernet?
What does your switch say about errors?
I had same problem. Maybe try another ethernet port! I had problems with packet loss two times, when I used ether1. Then I made a hole into Routerboard’s case and plugged into ether2 and everything worked fine. I think it’s because of PoE or maybe standart ethernet chip is worse than VIA which is under ether2 and ether3!
I am thinking about duplex mismatch.
