SmartUPS monitoring not working well

I bought a SmartUPS 1400 model built in 2001.

I configured it with routerOS (x86), and it picked it up, it works, but only for a short time, ~10 minutes then routerOS loses connection to it, it turns the UPS to Invalid, and it never re-establishes connection? I can no longer monitor/beep it

Anyone have any ideas? I bought specifically the SmartUPS because it was well-supported by Mikrotik

you need to specify serial port speed to 2400 and then it should work

This did not help, the UPS went invalid with port speed 2400, (flow control was xon/xoff) not sure if this matters or should be none?/hardware?

Flow control=hardware
