Hi ,
Set up SMB , can see the mikrotik under network in win7 but when trying to access it it asks for password , tied using the guest user of smd but not luck.
Pls help , how and what ports do I need to open on mikrotik? is it possible to browse the smb share without using authentication and users?

SMB is not working in 6.11 and 6.12 … possibly it is broken since 6.8 . I know that it works in 6.7

I am experiencing the same problem, my router is on the latest firmware,
I get a authentication error , in the mikrotik log before I typed the username and password on Windows pc

From the log it seems you are using some username, not “guest”
What Windows version did you use? Can you post screenshot from Windows connection dialog?
