SMS sending strange issue

Hello everyone,

RouterBOARD 3011UiAS
6.42.3
I'm using a USB modem HUAWEI E156G, I only need SMS capabilties.

[admin@MikroTik] > /port print
Flags: I - inactive

DEVICE NAME CHANNELS USED-BY BAUD-RATE

0 serial0 1 Serial Console 115200
1 1-1 usb2 2 sms tool 9600

If I send a SMS to my router using my cellphone, I receive it and it's readable in the "inbox", but if I try to send a SMS from the router to my cellphone, after some seconds I get the following:

RouterOS WinBox Error
Couldn't perform action - +CMS ERROR: 500 (unknown error) (6)

BUT, if I do the same thing using the terminal:
/tool sms send usb2
it asks me for the recipient phone number and for the text to send.... and it sends it perfectly right away!

This behavior happens with a carrier... using a SIM CARD from another carrier doesn't show the same problem, and I can regularly send SMS through the GUI.

Anybody have a clue?
Thank you very much!

ask your sim provider

The problem is that my sim provider is completely clueless and doesn’t even understand what we’re talking about :frowning:
I think I’ll get another SIM from another provider…

Problem seems to be at your provider. Font call 1 line suppoert - try to ask a 3 line. Then you should get a better answer
