The Dude has been running on our networks for quite some time. Unfortunately, it is perceived to provide many false positives. We have several maps, and if I look at outages per map, I see a few per day.
I am essentially only monitoring a minimal amount of data to watch for significant outages. On Mikrotik devices, I usually watch CPU. For Motorola, I watch bandwidth, or (on an AP) the number of SMs/CPEs. I attached an image of one map. The service names are not accurate regarding the brand of equipment.
What in the world is going on? The devices were functioning during this time, but The Dude is saying there is an outage. BTW, The Dude server is physically connected to the same switch as all the devices in the attachment. There is a combination of SNMP v1 and SNMP v2 being used on these devices.
Any ideas?
