Hi guys,
I’m a new registered user here. The reason to register in this forum is the next: I started to use the Dude Server as SNMP monitoring system. By security reasons I must monitor our servers ONLY using SNMP v3. So, I created new SNMP v3 profile in Dude and start adding the monitored servers. A big part of the servers are Linux Ubuntu servers - there was no problem. The Dude detected all SNMP things as well. But the problem is with the Windows servers.
Basically Microsoft don’t support SNMP v3 and that was the reason to buy licensed NuSoft Design SNMP Master Agent. It works fine - I’ve tested it with another monitoring program (ManageEngine OpManager). But when I try to start monitoring of the Windows server 2005/2008 in Dude Server - there is no result. It detects only the simple network protocols like http, https, ping and so.
Someone could ask me why I don’t use OpManager to monitor these servers? The reasons to use Dude server are many. Part of them:
- The servers which I want to monitor are locked from outside. They are not visible from Internet. My OpManager is located out of the server office;
- The Dude Server is very light against OpManager (OpManager uses Java).
So, I’ll be very pleased if someone helps me. Thank you!
