Hi,
I got this device yesterday: https://mikrotik.com/product/RBmAPL-2nD#fndtn-gallery
First thing I did after connecting it was to check for software upgrades. I forgot what was the factory software version (I think 6.44.5 long-term). I changed the channel to “stable”, and clicked “download and install”… and it bricked. Seems to have been in a boot loop as leds kept flashing but it never came back online (no DHCP request from it to my other router, WiFi AP never showed up). I somehow managed to unbrick it using netinstall (I downloaded 6.44.5 long-term, and it now says in /system/resources that this was the factory version too; though I’m not sure if netinstall could have changed this bit of information).
My question is, is there some information as to which software version works on which devices? Bricking a device from its own “software upgrade” menu isn’t quite acceptable I was tempted to ask for a refund, but as I said, I fixed it with netinstall and for now it works; it’s just that I’d like to be able to upgrade the software. Without bricking it, that is.
