Hi all.
I am very new to this level of networking and Linux - so I am very sorry if this is already covered. I am not even sure what to search for, so i am getting a lot of dead ends or at least they look like dead ends from my point of view.
I have a Mikrotik hAP ac Lite and was hoping to use the USB port to run a Solum USB adapter. The adapter shows up as a RNDIS device as you can see from the screenshots attached.
How do I get that to be a routable interface - or give it access to the internet?
I have attempted to install packages related to USB gadgets/RNDIS - these don’t appear to have been installed. Web search instructions are very unclear, drop the package file on the device then what… reboot to auto-install just seems to delete the files.
This device talks to a web server and sends data to Electronic Shelve edge labels. so need unrestricted access to the web. It should be simple, i feel like i am going around in circles and just not making any progress. It also has a static IP address IPv4 to 192.168.219.1 (the Fallback IP of the USB-GW is 192.168.219.130) neither of which appears in Torch. I hoped to see a broadcast on that IP address.
Any direction you can give would be amazing.
