[Solved] Chateau LTE6 - unable to install qcom drivers

Hi all,

So I somewhat foolishly removed my wireless drivers after following a tutorial online, rebooted the device and then tried to install the correct (arm) qcom drivers via the files menu (drag ‘n drop) in Winbox. Rebooted the device again and found no qcom drivers visable.

I then tried uninstalling my ros driver (7.20.2, arm) and installing both the same driver and the qcom through files and rebooted. Still the same result. Ros present, but no qcom.

I’ve also noticed that there are no uninstalled drivers in package manager that come into view like with other MT devices?

Anyway, I’m a bit stuck now and need some help to either reinstall the wireless drivers, or preferably, qcom.

Hoping someone can help.

[Edit] I feed the prepaid meter and suddenly the uninstalled drivers came into view! Funny that. I have successfully installed the qcom drivers now, but still begs the question, what was I doing wrong when I downloaded the correct file yet couldn’t install it manually, offline?

If something regarding packages (either installation of optional package or upgrade or downgrade or ...) fails, it's is most often (if not always) written in log ... and in my experience, the log messages are spot on.

It could also be because of the 16MB flash. wifi-qcom is of course not installable (too big and not the right chipset), and wifi-qcom-ac can also be too big if the flash has large configuration or things like backup or autosupout.rif leftover.

Good point, and most often overlooked I guess. Thanks.

16Mb! I figured it would be more than that considering it’s a Chateau and arm architecture. But I checked, and you’re definately on the money. 272kb of space left. Just as well I don’t need it for anything else.

But, the wifi-qcom-ac is definately installed. It took me a coupla bucks to pay the 4G prepaid gatekeeper to install it from the uninstalled list in Packages.
