[SOLVED] Is my RB433 dead (bad nand)?

Hello,
recently I started to have problems with my RB433. Sometimes the RB was totally frozen - I could not ping to it, however after reboot everything seemed to be ok (no unusual log messages etc.). I decided to “solve” this problem by updating the RB to more recent version, however the update failed.
I tried to restore the RB via netinstall and serial cable but I wasn’t sucessfull.
I simply cannot upload any firmware to the RB. When I am trying to install the firmware with netinstall the transfer usually stops in 20-30% and than the RB reboots. I also try to send the system package using minicom and xmodem, but it fails sometimes after few kB, sometimes after few MB. I always get NAK messages or

got 50 for sector ack
got 6f for sector ack

and the transfer fails. Maybe the NAND flash is dead? The RB is 2 years old without big load (RB acts as home wifi gateway).
Any ideas why the firmware fails to transfer?
Thanks

is it possible to run :

/system check-installation

and

/system check-disk

when try to upload new routeros. Do you connect using mac address or ip? when uploading files, its more stable to connect using IP. how about netinstall?

did you use the nand as storage for Web-Proxy or user manager or … ?

Hi, thanks for suggestions, however:

I cannot check the disk or installation, because I am unable to upload the system package to the routerboard. Right now, I am able to just list the BIOS Configuration commands. I tried the netinstall but without success. The routerboard gets the IP and is ready to receive the packages, however the trasfer always fails and the routerboard is restarted.

No. I didn’t use web-proxy or user manager. It was really low utilized access-point. I didn’t use nand as storage.

Is this an issue?

I am using the nand for storage before being copied off. Some failures happening and wonder if there is an issue.

Hi, I sent my RB for repair, because the device was still under warranty. They replaced it without problems but without explanation where the problem was. Anyway, my RB seems to work just fine, so I don’t care
Thanks for help.
