[SOLVED] New Cat6-cable to WAN fixed it. My old cable seems to be defective - (Took long time to get internet-access on LAN/WIFI after cold restart)

JFYI, Pournelle's Law:

I would say that with defective ethernet cables 1% is "bad cable" and 99% is "bad RJ45 plug", usually re-terminating a cable makes it work as new.

Still JFYI, most Mikrotik devices have a built-in feature for cable testing, but- for the reasons above - if the issue is in the connector (and it is in the connector) it isn't particularly useful, but it will usually tell you about an actually shorted or interrupted cable.

Yep. Just to clarify, I only said that it's not the cat5e rating's fault.

Cables go bad all the time. They're manufactured in the cheapest way possible and then abused to hell. Plus the rj45 connector was never created for these bandwidths.

It's more than believable that it's the cable's fault, just not specifically its rating's.

I apparently missed the 100mbit part . . . I was working on the hypothesis that you had jumped up from 1G (or lower) on your old router to 2.5G . . . (and then found cable specs that blew off 2.5.)

Oh well . . . glad it's sorted.

Yes it was a very valid hypothesis I think and I really appreciate your input and the help!
I also did try to set the 2.5G to 1G before I bought a new cable, because I thought it was a very valid hypothesis. Thank you again! And thank you again to all people who helped me.

Best regards
