SOLVED: RB711 clients displayed as Base Station, why?

Recently only some RB711 CPE configured as wireless clients as displayed, pressing WINBOX three points, in the list of base stations, as they did years ago with the RB133, some ideas?

what is “the list of base stations”? the three dots in Winbox shows you a list of available RouterBOARD devices, this has nothing to do with being “Base stations” …

Usually when I type the winbox three dots appear only level 4 license Routerboard (AP) and level 3 RB bridged, but not level 3 CPE (all 3 levels CPE have the wlan masked).

Only some of the latest RB711 used to connect customers are displayed in the list along with other RB AP and bridge.

The configuration of clients is the same and almost all are connected with RB711 so why only some of these Level 3 are listed.

I don’t know why you “usually” see only bridged and AP devices, maybe a coincidence, but Normally this list displays “ALL” nearby routerboard devices

I presume that he has a configuration script that disables the neighbor protocol on wlan of his CPE units.
On the new Firmwares (which are loaded on RB711) the disabling behavior has changed.
Just my thoughts…

Grazie Renato,
no script was uploaded this strange behavior happens with an old RB133 and on 5 RB711 recently purchased. Even when I try to update the firmware to 5.9 the problem persists.

I still don’t understand the problem :slight_smile: This is to be expected, and is completely normal. If I am not understanding you correcly, upload a network diagram drawing, and explain what is expected, and what is actually happening. Also post screenshots.

Ok this is completely normal :slight_smile: , this is not a real problem it was just my curiosity, because this only happens only with some clients,

You can make them invisible, by turning off “neighbor discovery” in the menu “/ip neighbors discovery”

on a few clients for some reason was enabled discovery neighbor on wlan interface.

I prefer to disable this feature for customers.
