[Solved] Single IP blocked for unknown reason

I have just installed a RB411AH/XR5 v4.11 Access Point along with a RB411/XR5 v4.10 CPE in my office. The AP is connected to the Main LAN Switch which leads to some other 900MHz AP’s. The system worked great while testing but the trouble started when I used the MikroTiks to replace the Canopy Backhaul that was the office connection.

The network went into total chaos. The office link was down and 900MHz client radios suffered various strange problems like associating with the AP, but refusing to pass DHCP to the client or not responding to pings or snmp.

Rebooting the Main LAN Switch restored the office link but it took rebooting almost everything in sight to get rid of all the strange problems. It looks like ARP was the problem but why did it affect far too many devices?

Now the last problem (that I know of) is rediculous.

The AP is in routed mode and the CPE is in bridge mode. It is impossible to communicate with one single IP address on the Main LAN out of an entire /24 subnet. If I log into the AP with Winbox, I can reach this IP from the terminal. If I log into the CPE with Winbox, communication with this IP is impossible. All other IP’s in the same subnet appear to be fine. The filter rules are empty. The configuration is very basic.

I am baffled! Does anyone have even a guess as to where to look?

Maybe I’ve been at work too long today  The device I couldn’t ping had a misconfigured gateway address. Now I am wondering how it worked before.

On to another problem… A PC that can’t ping anything on it’s own subnet :frowning:
