Hi,
I have a Yamaha AV receiver that was connected to internet via lan cable, so that I could see it as a cast device from, for instance, Spotify.
Since I’m back from a long travel, my surprise was that the AV was no longer able to get an IP via DHCP from router. After checking a lot of things, even with wireshark, I saw the device is always using a full zeroes as MAC address, and so never getting back an address from router. I tryed updating, downgrading and updating again the firmware and nothing. I guess the network interface has some hw issue right now that avoid using the proper mac address from the physical interface.
I separated the connection into a 10.0.0.0/30 connection of ether5 interface, assigning a fixed ip 10.0.0.2 from the AV, and then bridging Ether5 to the LAN and WAN from the hAP ac2 that I use as router.
With this, at least I can use Yamaha app from the phone to handle some functions of the AV, but still not Spotify or chromecast functions, as well as Net Radio, as I guess they need to route to the internet first. One of the first thing the AV does once getting a live connection, is trying to reach some sites, such as https://yradio.vtuner.com/
Anyway, my idea was to try using the microtik to “NAT” the MAC address and so route the traffic from AV “corrected” to all destinations.
I tried setting some NAT and Firewall rules, but honestly I’m not getting any results.
So I’m here to ask for your help. Do you have any suggestion?
