some 2.8.16 problems

hello,

thanks to the mikrotik team for releasing the 2.8.16 version. we start immediately testing it.

first i had problems to install it on my test-WRAP. security and wireless packages didn’t load, i had to install them one by one. after a reset then everythings up to 2.8.16 and running.

i tried to configure the wireless interface and got

[admin@rt-sisch3] interface wireless> set wlan1 frequency=2472
ERROR: no such argument (=)
[admin@rt-sisch3] interface wireless>

via winbox i could set ch. 13.

i still can’t connect with my 802.11b card (airport aka orinoco silver) when AP is set to b/g-mode, in b-only it connects.

you didnt specify interface
you have to do something like this:
set wlan1 frequency=2472

thanks. just a copy/paste mistake. sorry! it is ofcourse working with something like

set wlan1-lan frequency=2472

we had also very low 802.11g throughput between a 2.8.13 and a 2.8.16 router. loading wireless-legacy gets us the good throughput rate again. we are going to have some tests later this week.

Could you tell more about your setup: distnace, how did you measure that speed, what PC are you using?
You could send the support output file from both routers and send to support@mikrotik.com to check if all is correct.

not worth the effort.

with 2.8.13 (or 2.8.15 with wireless-legacy) everything is working, and we are going to test 2.8.16.
