Hi,
I’m planning a wireless node with mikrotik, so I would like some advice.
I’ll have 2 DSL connections and I’ll have to think about how to manage the load balancing between the two gateway.
Will be possible with mikrotik?
Then I’ll have to connect one base station mikrotik, I think to choose the RB333 (level4), for the clients I’ll use RB411 level3.
internet ↔
Router DSL 1 ↔ Router DSL 2
Base Station RB333 (level4) ← wireless →
RB411 CPE1
RB411 CPE2
RB411 CPE3
A possible problem that I can have is that some CPE will not be LOS with the base station instead it will be one of LOS with existing CPE
internet ↔
Router DSL 1 ↔ Router DSL 2
Base Station RB333 (level4) ← wireless →
RB411 CPE1
RB411 CPE2
RB333 CPE3<-- wireless -->RB411 CPE4
in this case I think to change RB411 level 3 of CPE3 with RB333 (level4). The RB333 will be connected with wlan1 and wlan2 and two antennas, the first antenna will be LOS to the base station RB333 and the second LOS with CPE4.
The best configuration for the wlan1 of CPE3 will be AP Bridge with WDS between the MAC Address of base station’s wlan1 to creare a repeater from base station RB333 and CPE3 RB333.
CPE3 wlan2 will be configured as AP Bridge and wlan1 of CPE4 as station.
I still thinking about accounting of the CPEs, I read about user manager but I have’nt yet try it, what you think about?
I would also be able to store logging of CPE traffic, this asks me a law of my country and I have not decided yet if that means using a web proxy or something like this. Is there a way to do it with mikrotik?
Thanks Cetalfio
