hello,
i followed the nstreme discussion and looked up the docs. (there is no whitepaper yet?!). before trying it, i’d like to ask some questions:
could someone (possibly from mikrotik) explain in short the nstreme advantages mentioned in the doc?
- Client polling
- Very low protocol overhead per frame allowing super-high data rates
- No protocol limits on link distance
- No protocol speed degradation for long link distances
- dynamic protocol adjustment depending on traffic type and resource usage
as far as i understand, nstreme is still kind of beta. is it recommended to wait until 2.9 final, before using it in real world i.e. customer wireless-links?
is cpu load also the limiting factor for bandwith with nstreme, and what cpu speed is necessary (>= 1GHz)?
how much is throughput difference between framer-policy=best fit and exact-size. from reading, best-fit seems to me the best choice.
