i have my mikrotik but first of all i don t know how to create nat i made a src address masquerade out ppoe out 1.
my internet disconnect everytime it want and on the log says dns changed.
the biggest problem is that i can t open msn.com yahoo.com microsoft.com does anybody can help me.
i can give u also my msn and show me on msn how to make mikrotik work.

How do you get your IP address from your provider? Do you enter it manually (static) or does your ISP server issue one every time you boot your computer(dhcp)?
And the NAT. I use the command line:
/ip firewall nat add chain=srcnat action=masquerade out-interface=ether1
That way it will masqerade as the correct IP if you use dhcp.

what i have to do if some of the websites don t work and the ip isn t static?
about the nat i made it like u said but the problem is that i haven t got ether1, but i have ppoe out1 are ether1 and ppoe out1 the same these the same?

i tried to fix it and i saw i had used static dns-s i deleted my dns-s and now my yahoo is working but msn still not working.
do u think the problem is mtu cos on my ppp mtu active is1488 maybe it has to be 1480 or 1492?

MTU can cause that.
Ping whatever website you can’t get to using “ping http://www.whatever.com -l 1472 -f”
the -L comment sets the size to whatever number you need, the -F comment tells it not to fragment the packets.
Try 1472, if that works, you’re pretty well set. If not, go down ten, once it works, go up five, etc, until you find your MTU.
I’ve had this issue before with various ISP’s and various routers behind MT boards.
i have three interfaces
lan
internet
and pppoe-out1. the mtu is enabled at lan and internet but not at pppoe-out1.
u can set whater mtu and it never been enabled.
i went on telnet try also and it say that u are using sigle line input.
now no one of my website is working
and the interface pppoe-out1 isn t connecting it says all the time running waiting for packets disconnected
and my nat isn t working it says invalid i made a nat src address, out interface pppoe-out1,
action masquerade.
i am stucked i can t go on i am a beginner and i am learning too much about mikrotik but seems i am like i don t know nothing.
