hi

first of all I give my thanks to this great forum which helped all of people who interested in networking and mikrotik OS

here is my questions and forgive me for my limited knowledge because am actually a doctor :smiley: nd also forgive me for my poor english…

knowing that I run a 3.30 mikrotik version as two servers
the first one is for PCC “load balncing” and mangle marks
the second one is for hotspot and filter rules

1-

now I want to enter the wireless field, which method of the following is better:

  • to connect the antenna using the wireless package on my server?
  • to connect a normal lan line from the hotspot serverto the m2hp bullet then to the antenna?

2-

by which requirments I can spread a good signal of 500 meters 360 degree or less using just my central system?
“I mean how I can spread a wi-fi inside homes percing the concrete?”

3-

when I want to transfer my signal to approx. distance of 5 KM using direction antenna, does the omini antenna can serve as sender with the same performance of 2 direction antenna?

I hope to find suitable answers…

Hi

I have the below setup and it is working so nice for long time

PCC to RB

The RB is set to be bridge as the PC is the load balance and the hotspot server. in these scenario im using 5 RB’s to cover around 800m full cover @ B mode (11 Mb)
other setup witch is costing money is to a DSLAM witch is the best way to have full coverage as you can use normal telephone cables with a distance of 20Km and in the client side thy can use any normal adsl modem or wireless modem. im using the 1st option to cover around 60 users as i cant use any cables. the 2nd one im using it to provide a compound with 120 users .
