- Start a fresh dude install;
- Do the discovery on you network and let it add those hosts automatically and dont forget to select “add to auto scan”;
- Pick one of these devices and customize it, ie: change its appearance, name, snmp, dev type, etc;
- Let it rescan again and see what happens.
For some reason I dont know, the customized device is “removed” on the next scan. Then it is re-added on the third scan totally “uncustomized”. Why the heck dude should even think about “touch” my custom devices? I just want to scan new IP addrs when it comes up, just to find out if there are new devices to just customize. Please, for god sake, dont let dude mess with custom devices. If so, please, add a checkbox saying “customized device”, then dude should never touch it. Im missing this feature for long.
Discover when a IP addr suddenly pop up on a LAN is highly requested for me… Im just requesting that dude dont even “look” at my custom devices, except its address to avoid add many identical entries.
Sry n Thank you a lot, so far. Dude still a great tool.
