I sometimes notice an ‘sp’ after the bitrate. I find this by going under interface and data rate for my wlan1 (900mhz). What does the sp signify?
short preambule
M.
That makes sense.
Is it possible or worth trying to lock a radio into sp vs allowing it to be plcp?
My understanding is that plcp long preamble transmits at 1Mbps and is 18bytes long while the shorter preamble can transmit at 1Mbps and the header at 2Mbps. Short preamble is 9 bytes as well, I think.
I could be way off here so anyone chime in but it seems I might want to lock a radio into short preamble and pick up through put???
So i’ve found how to lock a 900 ap in sp, lp or both. I still haven’t learned what the consequences of such a move might be. Right now I am set to the default of ‘both’.
does anyone lock in this setting or can someone provide some insight into what the consequences of the setting. My thought is sp preamble will gain air time and throughput for me with less overhead but at what cost?
No insight?
