Hi All,
I have a very interesting issue with speeds in the office that I’m hoping someone can help me with.
We have a 100Mbps Internet link in the office, connected to an RB2011 and we’re using an Apple Airport Extreme for wireless.
When testing on speedtest.net connected to the wireless, we’re seeing 60mbps download, but 100mbps upload. Which is not much of a concern seeing as we’re connected via wireless.
However, when testing connected to the routerboard, we’re seeing 100mbps download but never more than 60mbps upload.
The speed just swaps around for some reason.
Setup:
Single public IP on bridge1 interface.
srcnat rule natting traffic out as IP on the bridge interface.
3 firewall rules blocking input traffic for all except certain IP’s specified in an address list.
bridge2 for LAN on ports eth2 and 3 (airport connected to eth2 and 3 for my own personal testing).
I’ve been playing around with TCP MSS adjust but can’t seem to figure it out.
When running a bandwidth test from the RB2011 to a server off site, I can see 100mbps one-way, full duplex I’m seeing around 50mbps but the CPU on the RB2011 doesn’t like full duplex tests it seems.
When running btest from a machine connected to the wireless, we’re seeing poor download but good upload, when running btest from the same machine connected straight to the RB2011, we’re seeing great download but poor upload.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
