Speed issues WAN - LAN on RB2011UiAS-2HnD

Hi All,

I’ve received a new bridged cable modem from my ISP which is capable of doing 500mbps down,

with only a laptop connected to the modem, I can get max speed,
but when I connect it to my mikrotik I can only get near 280mbps.

Modem is connected to ether1, all other ports are in use by computers.

first, I had a bridge containing all interfaces from port 2 to 5,
but this causes my router CPU to reach the 100% load when trying to download at full speed

I removed eth3, 4 and 5 from bridge, and gave them ether2 as master.

performance is still poor, and I have no idea how to solve it.

any ideas ?

no one ? :frowning:

500Mbps is way too much for this router, gigabit ports are only for layer2 otherwise this router won;t route more than 200-250Mbps and this with 100% cpu load. Try increasing the cpu frequency but be aware of higher temps.
Also you should try RB850Gx2, use this for main routing and rb2011uias for wifi lans etc

does the RB850Gx2 have enough power to support the high bandwidth ?

Yes, from technicall specs it should handle 500Mbps
