Hi all,
I’m trying to get SRXLTE6 working as primary 3G/4G/LTE modem in a remote area with not-so-great signal coverage. So far I was using TP-Link Archer WMR100 which can only get 25% signal strength here (rarely 50% and there is no mor eprecise indication than 0-25-50-75-100 on this device).
Recenly switched this device to router mode and connecte SRXLTE6 to it’s WAN port. SRX seem to have better reception, antenna is positioned to the direction of not so nearby (only) mast in teh area. SRX box lights indicate 3 of five signal strength at this moment. RouterOS indicates RSRP -95 dbM, RSRQ -14 dbM to be precise.
Router OS is 6.49.7, latest atm.
My issue is speed.. I hoping the achieved speed would be better or at least the same as on home-level TP-Link taht has no directional antenna… but it seem to be the other war around.
The provider’s contracted speed on the SIM used is 20Mbps theoretically. On the ld TP-Link I was able to get 3-5 Mbps. With SRX I seem to be 1-2Mpbs downstream, with upload actually being better than download, 2-2.5 Mpbs (?)
The provider is O2 Czech, the only one having ANY coverage in this area. profile is pretty standard, apn internet, no auth.
Any ideas what is going on here?? How can home level 4G router with poorer signal reception have better performance than SRX in these conditions??
Thank you for all your suggestions and hints
Cheers!
