Ok .. I have a few problems with mikrotik .. for now .. I hope it’s my fault because mikrotik is wonderful .. so here it goes …

why do the response times from time to time get to 9ms - 15ms ( and don’t get back to <1ms until I make some more traffic ) .. I’m connecting with a laptop through the mikrotik and pinging a host in the local network ( outside mikrotik ) .. if I do some more traffic .. the reponse times get back <1ms .. but that’s not normal .. ?

is the speed limit capped or something when using the trial ( 24h version ) of mikrotik ? When downloading a file:
gateway → hostfile → 2-3M ( as in 100M in a min or two )
laptop → pppoe-server(mikrotik) → gateway → hostfile 200 - 300 k ( as in 100M in 5 - 6 - 7 minutes )
laptop → pppoe-server(mikrotik) → gateway → only 1 - 2 M instead of the dedicated 100M line ( 1Gbps network cards .. )
something isn’t definitely isn’t right ! it’s just a test box .. so I’m the only one lurking in it ..

the issue is from mikrotik because the gateway keeps up the good work .. don’t have any problems with it ..
- is the memory limit at 2G of ram ? ( I have 8 ) .. any way I can make it use all of it ? ..
- I have 2 x quad xeon ( amd64 ) .. and it still shows up x86 .. shouldn’t it show x86_64 or something ?
this machine will be used to route about 1k - 2k pppoe users .. I need it to work flawlessly ..
so I don’t get it .. does the pppoe have any problems ? 
.. I’m thinking of buying mikrotik but I can’t have these response times and/or other issues ! .. what can I do ? whom do I have to talk to about this ?
