Speed when connect to ISP router...

Hi All,
I have changed Internet providers and moved to 900 down and 450 up.
For now I am using the ISP supplied Fritzbox as the phone line is over fibre
so this acts as an ATA.. Behind the Fritz i have a mikrotik RB962.
I i connect to the mikrotik with a cable I get 440 down (900 not expected as I have teenagers in the house!),
if I connect to the fritz with a cable I get 700 down.
If I connect to my wireless ( unifi AP AC PRO - connected to Mikrotik) I get 440 down.

I have firewall turned off on Fritz as its only a modem and ATA so what do I need to do on Mikrotik to get speeds up?

Hey

You didn’t mention SFP, so I’m guessing you’re not using it right?

Then what you get is max: siee https://i.mt.lv/cdn/rb_files/RB962UiGS-160210082257.png
Traffic from Fritz and from lan both need to pass over 1gb/s link, hence theoretical limit of a bit less than 500mb/s

Quick fix: use SFP for traffic to Fritz, then you’ll hit cpu limit at some point, max is about 9xx mb/s, https://mikrotik.com/product/RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT#fndtn-testresults

Hey Sebastia,
You mean SPF from Mikrotik to WAN (Rj45) on Fritz.

Ahh. I see from your pic.. Makes perfect sense now

many thanks.
