SR2 or CM9

Can’t decide and have to install this AP today.

RB532a with single SR2 or CM9 obviously running 2.4

SR2 would be powered down to 23dBm

802.11 is virtually non-existent in this development.

Load 50-60 users

All perfect LOS. Those with NLOS will be on a separate 900mhz system.

13dBi Pacwireless HPOL omni. Heliax jumper.

Tranzeo 23dBm for CPE

All under 1 mile

cm9

If all are under 1 mile, you might as well use the CM9; though I would suggest using an R52 instead of a CM9 (R52 is better, IMO).

Would you be so kind enough to explain why? thanks.

How did the setup go, care to share the results, just wanted to see if any issues with prism clients and atheros ap.

Using SR2 for all my 2.4. Seem to work well when grounded properly. Having some throughput issues with the CPE80 crap from Tranzeo.

sr2 is too much money and power for that shot..if the nlos are > 1 mile u may be able to hit them with sr2…but if not then use r52 as cheaper..and made by MT.

its 10mw more TX than the cm9 i think..

I’ve had problems with Ubiquity radios going ‘deaf’ after lightning storms. We might not have
properly grounded them. What’s the story regarding your ‘properly grounded’ comment? Are
they more sensitive to static than other radios? Is it a performance issue? I guess I really need to look into other radios.

I’m wondering what is the best way to ground them as well? We are using the pac wireless hinged enclosure and a poe injector that does not have a grounding block…

Thanks,
Dan.
