SR5 card rates not detected correctly?

I thought I read this somewhere but cannot find it now…

The SR5 seems to use the CM9 transmit powers table. Is there any reason this isn’t showing as the mfg shows?

Transmit Powers
6-24 Mbps; 26dbm
36 Mbps; 24dbm
48 Mbps; 22dbm
54 Mbps; 21dbm
all +/- 1dbm

I believe it showed up as 19dbm … 2.9.29

Hi, i have the same problem, if i set tx-power=default and by console do a monitor in the card, this show max speed of 19db in the lowest speed, i need to set in card rates=26 but the RB532 is not stable, reboot in a few minutes, i think is by a 12v power, tomorrow i change it to 48v.

using 2.9.27,

current-tx-powers: 6Mbps:19,9Mbps:19,12Mbps:19,18Mbps:19,24Mbps:19,
36Mbps:15,48Mbps:14,54Mbps:13

same issue here… how do you know the SR5 is working at allowed full power? If you set power manually, don’t overdrive the radio card. You have to set the power lower than the specs by a few dBs. Does anyone know how many dBs need to be lowered? 4 or 5 dB?

At 2 weeks i have this 19db default card in manual-tx at 26db working excellent! i think all SR5 are 26db, i hope not crash… :unamused:

PS: can MT guys try this problem and post a fast answer? thx

You should use tx-power=19 as it already is using almost max power. You should add to that value that you enter +5 and you will get real value. We will try to update the software so it is showing the correct values.

uldis,

19+5= 24 dBm, but for which data rate? You know for SR5, the maximum power is different for each rate. For example, in spec 24 dBm is 36 Mbps. If tx-power=19 is used for 54Mbps, adding 5 dBm more, the final tx-power is larger than 21 dBm according to the spec for 54Mbps rate. Please elaborate on maximum power setting for different rate.

I wonder why they don’t just match the specs:

6-24 Mbps, 26 dBm, +/- 1dB
36 Mbps, 24 dBm, +/- 1dB
48 Mbps, 22 dBm, +/- 1dB
54 Mbps, 21 dBm, +/- 1dB

Actual you should add approx +8 and not +5 - my mistake
In v3.0 you will automatically adjust to show correct value.
It applies for all rates.

Why? Why not use mfg rates?

Sam

we already are using manufturer rates/txpower, but hey are reporting not the real tx-power but their own values. To know what db actualy the card is using you should add to that value approx +8.
