SR5 & XR5 wireless cards

Hi

Have been reading about using XR5 and SR5 cards for setting up p2p wireless links in this forum.

What kind of cards are these ? Can these cards be used in normal intel based pc ?? Are they PCI type cards or some
specific motherboards are required for that ?? What OS is required ?

Its a miniPCI wireless card and work with mikrotik routerboard

i wold not recommend these cards to be used in laptops because they are in completely different thermal envelope than original device that is installed or planned to be installed.

Also they might not fit in there.

on the other hand R52 should fit nicely and be in same thermal envelope as standard miniPCI Wi-Fi modules designed for laptops

Hi

I read one post in this forum. That person has used that card in intel based PC.

You can install Routerboard 11,14,and 18 in intel based PC and can user the miniPCI wireless card.
