SR9 ptp and pmp study questions

Good info there, but one question.

I assume the latency showed in the PDF’s was during the bandwidth tests? It is actual latency during full link load, correct?

Also, what happens if you lock a speed below 18Mbps? say 6Mbps? does it make the signal a bit more stable or does the SR9 get kinda wonky? I’ve not read where anyone locked the SR9 below 18Mb yet.

I’m looking to build a ptp bridge to finally get high speed to my home and business. About a 3.5 mile shot with at least a quarter mile of thick trees and fresnel zone problems, no tower at my location yet, this is why I’m looking at the SR9.

SR9=Garbage.

If you want a reliable, Mikrotik compatible card use the new Zcomax 900mhz card.

Not to flame you here, but; Garbage? Ur seriouz!?

I’ve also had issues with the SR9’s. They seem extremely susceptible to out of band interference and it is difficult to find a geographic area where they work well. Indoors actually they worked extremely well at powering through walls. But outdoors they were much less reliable then 2.4 GHz alternatives. Does anyone else have any opinions on the ZCOMAX cards? I’ve never used them so I don’t know if they are better or not.

I’ve heard of them, but I have yet to find anything about them aside from limited info in their datasheets.

I’m not counting them out, but when searching the web, the SR9 has a lot more info, good and bad, than the GZ901.

I would still like an answer to my original post, if anyone minds. Bottom line, this is my first jump into long range NLOS shots. I’m looking for some info on latency with trees in the way.

Are the Zcom 900MHz cards fully compatible with MikroTik?
