Here is the setup:
112 board ver:2.9.35
SR9
48v power, 75’ run of cat5
Rootenna encosure
Everything working well. Client is up for three days fine. Then the card looses association. And will not reconnect. I have done a scan and the Ap cannot be seen. Normal signal when working was -68 both ways.
Did a power down and rebooted, still nothing. Then as a troubleshoot I went to system and did a shutdown within the board and rebooted and it reassociated. this is not the first time this has happened. Any thoughts to why if you power down it wont come back but if you do a system shutdown and then power cycle it will work again? Thanks
I’ve had this happen many times. I’m RMAing four of these SR9s for this exact reason. The four I’m RMAing would not connect or scan ANY 900MHz ssid, swaping them with a new card fixed the problem. I’ve tested these cards on the bench tried them as AP’s as well. When in AP mode no SR9 could associate and I got the same results I had in the field when using them in Station/Station-WDS.
I didn’t try your method, but there doesn’t seem to be any logical reason why that would fix/solve the problem. I’d assume the card is bad and replace it.
Question for you.. How do you fit the 112 board in the Rootenna enclosure? The 900MHz Rootennas only have a 1" deep pouch. We’ve “modified” the enclosure to get them to fit, just wondering how others are doing it.

What I do is drill and tap the back of the antenna plate, I use 440 machine screws as standoffs with nuts for spacing. The SR9 goes towards the bottom with a piece of thin insulator between the card and the back of the antenna. The two capacitors on the board just bareley clear the antenna mounting plate. I think the gasket on the plate just gives enough room for clearance. Sure wish the capacitors were not so tall. It would really help.
As for the card I am still discussing with ubiquiti. It sure is wierd that the earlier cards that I have bought are still working great, but the latest seem to have the issue.. Please email me mwi@moorelandisp.com
