SR9 WDS Problems...

Just added an SR9 to a RB532. The 532 also has an SR5 interface.

After adding the SR9 card, the SR5 which is in station-wds mode will no longer connect.

Also WDS does not work with any of the SR9 clients, they will ONLY work in station mode. Is this some kind of bug? I can’t figure out why it would be working fine before hand and now after just adding an interface it wont work at all.

I also find it strange that an SR9 client cannot create a WDS bridge with an SR9 AP..

I’ve also double checked my configs I know they are right… There is really nothing to enabling WDS.. what gives??

I’ve hit a wall, it’s friday, and I’m in desperate need of a beer…

I guess I should also include that the SSID I’m trying to connect to does show up in a scan w/ a -65 but it will not connect… I’m pulling the SR9 right now to see if that solves the problem…

Router OS v.2.9.27

Funny thing, replaced the SR5 card and now the SR5 card works..

Now to test WDS on the SR9…

OK no go on SR9 client in station WDS mode connecting to a SR9 in AP bridge mode with WDS enabled.

Has anyone successfully setup WDS on a SR9 card yet?

We have a 1.5km 900mhz link using WDS. It is working in G only mode and it can sustain 15mbps of throughput.

I first had problems configuring the link in the lab. The client saw the AP but was not able to connect. I changed one of the card, I don’t remember which one, and now it works.

OK so it could be a faulty SR9…

< bump >

wildbill442, any word on your luck with WDS? Just curious as we are looking to try a few of these and would like to use WDS. Bad card or something else?

Thanks

I did some testing today between a RB532 (no other card other than an SR9), and a WRAP w/ an SR9. 2.9.18 on one side, 2.9.27 on the other. I used AP Bridge w/ NStreme/Polling, WDS dynamic. On the WRAP I used Station-WDS, NStreme/Polling. Bridged it all together, and picked up DHCP right through it, BTests came in about 4Mbps @ 5mhz, 8Mbps @ 10mhz, and 3Mbps @ 20mhz (noise). In addition, it worked correctly when I enabled compression, which increased throughput even more for downloading regular stuff.

This was INDOORS using 2 mobile 900 antennas (6dbi 900mhz mag-mount, 3dbi mag-mount 2.4/900). I am going to take my 6dbi antenna on the rooftop of a 320 foot building tomorrow, and connect it to a 1 mile away client using a 14db Yagi..

These SR9’s are from the ORIGINAL batch (I pre-ordered them weeks before they were released).

We do not have any problems with CM9 cards in WDS.
