I have a SRC pcmcia card in a RB 230. I’m having really shitty signel from them. I setup a CPE down the street and it runs great with the 200mW Senao card, but when I replace it with the SRC card it has very low signel and drops the connection every minute or so.
The RB230 has 2.9.7 on it and I also tried it with the 2.8.28 box.
THINK ! hmmm
Lots of problems with the Ubiquiti line of cards.
Hmmm!
Maybe it time to find a good 802.11G AMP. (Weighting on flames)
no problem at all
try switching ant-a or ant-b
and adjusting tx-power mode
I just did that and It went from a -89 to a -70. Only a 2.2dbi antenna for testing.
The funny thing is that on the XP laptop A is the port that works.
Frikin frak, I’m going to have to climb back up the 300’ tower to do the live test again.
I was out on the antenna mount changing the cards and moving the pigtails from a to b with my partner on the laptop telling me NO NO NO NO these cards such!
I’m going to smack him in the teeth if I go back up there and it all works great.
I guess I need to pop in the good old 200mW senao card before I get to happy.
Testing it now, will post in a few minutes.
OK, I popped in the old 200mW senao card and it was about the same, which is good. On the tower the other night my partner was telling me that the connection was -98 with the SRC and -71 with the 200mW senao. At this point I’m thinking that each time I changed the antenna port he changed the port in the MT OS.
I can feel good about going back up the tower now to test them again. Think I’ll go by my self this time.
There is one odd thing going on that I don’t like, which is that I had two of the SRC cards in the test box. So I took out the one that was working on antenna B and put a 200mW senao card in it’s place for a side by side testing.
So, I connected the antenna to the B port and tryed both A and B ports in the MT OS and it was running like shit, so I moved the antenna to port A and then tryed both A and B in the MT OS and it works better on the A port on this card and B port on the other. Hmmm banging head on wall!
