SSH Tunnels not working

I get this error when i try to establish an SSH tunnel (Router OS v5 beta2) :

“server sent Disconnect message” Type 11 (by application)".

Seems like SSH tunnels are broken.

try beta4

Did you try it ? Is it working for you for SSH tunnels ?

I would prefer to wait a couple weeks before to install beta 4, because we had strong problems with beta3 causing unstable trafic and loosing Winbox access. The router where i need it is at a remote site. So i can’t take to much risks.

I know this is beta, but i need IPv6 PPPoE, not supported inside version 4. We had problems as well with non working VRRP and VLANs on port 1 with v4.

Some remarks on v5 beta 3 :

I don’t like the new GUI. I hope they will revert to the older one because in the new one we can’t close windows by the left system menu.

I can’t understand that Mikrotik is loosing time on cosmetic GUI things, when there is so much important work to do :

  • IPv6 (4/6, 6/4, 6/6 tunnels…)
  • 802.1ah and 802.1qay (Provider Backbone Bridge and Provider Backbone Transport), so that small providers can use it, MPLS is most of the time too complex for them. Even big providers begin to switch to PBB / PBT.
  • 10 Gbps multiqueue support
  • OpenVPN UDP support and hardware acceleration
  • more complete implementation of DHCP and DNS.

Till now, v5 do not give major new functions to justify a new major revision number. v5 should stay v4. Mikrotik version numbering is quite strange. Using the standard Linux numbering scheme would be clearer.

versioning was already described on the forum

do NOT install beta4 on production server - install it on the test machine. if beta4 do not have SSH forwarding problem - they won’t fix it in beta5
