Hello!
We’ve been working with Starlink for some time and have gained some experience with the hardware and software since generation 1.
I have these questions for the community:
-
If you use more than one Starlink antenna, do you use the internal IP assignment or do you work with bypass mode?
-
If you assign an IP address directly to the router from the 100.64.0.0/10 network, do you use these IP addresses for the same (!) default gateway with suitable source-based routing? Is this working for you? Who uses which routing configuration?
-
Starlink routers can now also offer private IP addresses locally to 192.168.1.0/24 or 192.168.4.0/24. Routing to up to four different default gateways is easy to use from the Mikrotik router. Does anyone use it this way? Is that practical? Double Routing NAT problems?
-
Do you also use L2 tunnels via various Starlink antennas to a point (e.g., a data center) through which you then assign fixed IP addresses? Have you ever replicated the path and tunnel aggregation of “Peplink” with Mikrotik?
I would be happy to hear about all of these points…
