Hello, my name is Alex, and i’m trying to configure the dude’s email notifications as i describe below:
I want that a X device, when change status to “unstable->down” or “unknown->down”, dude send email notifications every 5 minutes, until the device is up, i mean when it transitions to
“down->unstable” or “down->up”.
Well, my problem is the dude doesn’t stop sending email notifications, even when the device is already up. The dude, when detecting that status change, starts sending emails until the “Repeat count” reaches the configured value (in this case, 100), and I want to send mails until the device change to “down->unstable” or “down->up”.
Please, what can I do to achive what i want?
Thank you!
Make a clone of Notification, rename them so one is for down and the other is for up. Setup the down notification to have 100, set the up notification to have 1. Enable them both… so email of down is from unstable->down and email of up is from down->up.
Hello! thank you for replying.
I´ve tried that configuration and now The Dude sends only one time the email notification for the “unstable->down” status change, even when i configured it to send it 6 times (for testing, i didn´t put 100), while the “down->up” notification is sent 1 time. The delay time and repeat interval is the same for both (5 seconds and 2 minutes).
So, for testing, i´ve put the email notification for “down->up” to send it 2 times, and i don´t know why that change affected the “unstable->down” notification. The Dude send the “unstable->down” notification only 2 times, the amount configured on the “down->up” notification!. It ignores the counter on the “unstable->down” notification, which value is 6.
What could be the problem? Maybe the time intervals?
Sounds like you have it correct, there is another question about this issue today but I don’t know you might have to send support an email and get them involved.
How can I contact support?
