Store logs on compact flash?

I searched around and didn’t see this feature anywhere, it would be nice for those of use who push a large amount of traffic through the routers with extensive firewalls to be able to log large amounts of data to a second compact flash card. This mainly pertains to the 532 boards, but it would also be nice on high end server hardware running a few flash cards.

Since the licensing is so restrictive of the disk it is installed on, I’d much rather burn up secondary flash cards with log data vs. dumping it all on one disk and killing the main flash card that much faster.

syslog is your friend.

syslog is probably faster than writing to disk, from the originating routers perspective.

logging anything during a heavy attack will bring your router to a halt… always use a ‘limit’ rule on your logging rules.

just my 2 cents.
