RB750GL and CRS226 both running 6.34.1. Services like Skype and Jabber keep dropping/reconnecting across multiple computers. None of my coworkers (all remote) are experiencing this, so it’s got to be either my ISP connection or something in my home network. I’m not seeing any packet drops or errors across any ports, so I’m really stumped as to why this stuff isn’t working. Anyone ran into this? Just started happening recently, but I haven’t made any network configuration changes aside from enabling an L2TP/IPsec VPN (which currently does not have any users connected). Happy to post whatever parts of my config anyone needs to see…
Check log?
Check your wan interface, it’s negotiating full duplex link with modem? I had a case where modem was glitching and only advertised a half duplex link. So many packet collisions.
Try using FTP and transferring a large file over the internet. See if it’s transfer rate pauses at any point. A TCP connection should survive packet losses, the file transfer should continue. If you notice these pauses, view the state of wan interface. It’ll show transfer rates again, does it drop to 0? If you can determine consistency, you can start troubleshooting and trial & error changes to narrow it down.
