Strange Hotspot related problem

Recently (sometime last few days), if you are running on a machine that has an entry in the Hotspot>>Bypassed Bindings list and you don’t need to login, you aren’t able to load many http:// sites. https:// works OK. Email/Skype/etc. OK.

If you are NOT on the IP Bindings list, and have to login, http:// sites load fine.

I had some problems with the network over the last couple weeks that I tried to configure my way around, and I wonder what might have changed. I kept pretty good notes and have some EXPORTS from before the problem occurred, but comparing them to the current config shows the only differences are due to some housecleaning of rules, etc. that I already had disabled. But I readily admit that fumble fingers may be at fault here.

Any thoughts on this? It is very strange.

UPDATE:

Found it. Web Proxy was turned off but the NAT rule was still in place.

Gotta be due to the flailing around/cleaning up I had been doing but I don’t remember doing it exactly…
Things were pretty hectic for awhile until I found out what the real problem was (intermittently failing hardware).

Oh well. If I don’t want to use Web Proxy any more, I have to disable the Proxy itself AND the NAT rule that redirects to it, correct?
