Strange issue after updating from 6.14 to 6.15 on RB751-2HnD
Hello,
Today I update two of my routers from winbox. They reboot and started just fine!
Then I mark for uninstall the packages I wont use:
mpls
ipv6
wireless-fp
(this one was default disabled after the update)
After marking them for uninstall, I reboot. And one of the routers never came alive. The POWER LED and ACT LED stays ON and there is no response from the router.
The other, just the same model. Updated just fine and I am now using it, but after the update, the wireless package stays disabled. If I enable it, reboot, and the package stays disabled.
Its fine you dont understand that, some users delete what they dont use, some other keeps everything installed and disabled. But this is not the problem I post here.
Thanks for your response anyway, I will keep trying to solve it.
OK, I have tried to netinstall but I keep getting til “Sending offer…” status, and it never reinstalls. To solve this, its important to disable every network on you window/linux machine, and leave only tcpip 4 enabled and configures as the wiki says and one cable connected directly to eth1 (WAN) try several cables if it fails.
OK, to continue on my problem…
I have the same issue on 2 same hardware routers after upgraded to 6.15. I see this strange behaviour on one of them as you can see on the attached image.
Seems that the router has the wifi package installed but it wont appear on package list and when you try to install it and reboot… then you see this log message: “omitting package wireless-6.15: it is already installed”
I tried to explain that this happens after upgrading to 6.15, and uninstalling wireless-fp… maybe there is a problem and as Rextended suggest “packages that I wont used should be disabled instead of uninstalled” but if there is a problem when uninstalling them, it would be good to know!
Hope someone have a good knowledge about the insides of the mikrotik packages and netinstall that can help.
I could netinstall… BUT I change two things… I used netinstall 6.14 instead of 6.15, and also I select every packages needed from inside all_packages-mipsbe-6.14.zip instead of the upgrade package routeros-mipsbe-6.15.npk (that I couldnt with netinstall 6.15 because of the “sending offer…” without success.
Now it works but I have one different thing (the package list structure tree) in the package structure inside the routerboard that I attache here (I think its because the way I installed on other routers, that I add ntp package after…)
Not too much answers on this topic or useful guru help (maybe we are not asking as we should), I still have strange issues unfortunately (like router reboot because out of memory and the /tool profile giving timeout with this error: action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)
will try sending them the supout…
