Strange question....

Hello.
I have just install my RB133 + R52H and one 2.4 Ghz disk antenna on main connector, ver. is 2.9.38.
My RB133 is a Station and signal from my AP at about 10 km from me is -65db.
I cannot register me but is it also strange that if I set from rxA-txA to rxB-txA, I see mine and other AP with a better signal of 10db (My AP is now -55db). Why ? I have not antenna on connector B.
Any idea ?

Thanks in advance.

Try setting to B by itself

Yes, I have already tried it but is not ok.

I am sure my antenna is to MAIN CONNECTOR.

Yesterday have upload to 2.9.50, same result.

Bye, ddm.

Greetings!

I have a couple RB133’s with the SR2s in them. I thought the main connector (MMCX) was ant-a, but I get very little input/output unless I switch to ant-b in the wireless setup. Tx and Rx got much better. Maybe it is just me…

He doesnt have an sr2 you **** ****

Thanks! I will take “**** ****” as a compliment.

The point was that the “main” transceiver on this chipset design appears to be the left connector. His “main” is also the left connector. Not all is as it appears.

EDIT: Strange that nothing has been mentioned on this forum since October about ant-a or ant-b being the selection for the MMCX connector on the SR2. And then nobody knew the answer. It has been out longer than the MikroTik radio, has it not?

I apologize. I left my account logged on and one of my co-workers was trying to be funny.

Accepted.

And mine to all for the “shotgun no help” on the SR2 antenna setting.

I have found with working on computer components, it is:
not how it is designed, nor
how it is built, but
how it is.

SR2 cards main (A) connector is ufl, MMCX is aux (B) connetor.

Thanks. I am aware of that now. Took an hour of experimenting to find out.

I am still wondering about the R52H tho…same way? Right connector ant-a and left ant-b?

I don’t know the answer but I can say that it shouldn’t take an hour to figure out :sunglasses:

Hi jwcn,

Didn’t really take an hour! :sunglasses:

I spent 30 minutes surfing this forum first before experimenting on my own. And it takes a few minutes to get far away enough to see if the change made any difference.

But nice of you to notice!!
