Streaming Video & PFIFO

I have a user complaining of streaming video stuttering. They are on a 128/512 plan via PPPoE. They complain speed usually tests at only 490 to 504.

Anyway, I cannot get onto there college basketball site so I tested it on cnn.com videos. Set at 512 it did seem to stutter some. Upping to 768 or above and it seemed fine. I noticed PPPoE uses PFIFO and it has a ‘queue size’ setting set at 50 packets. Will increasing this help any?

Dear hci,
If you increasing queue size then it can queued more than 50 packets for passing to your wan interface, but it will increase latency. If you are keep the media server in your own LAN then preformance might be better.
