For some reason my RB800 is sending a massive amount of packets to my computer (only one attached not doing anything other than idling (fresh windows install, no virus, malware etc).
Within a short period of time 2days for some reason my RB800 has sent over 436GBs of data (as can be seen on Eth3 (lan) interface using winbox.
Can anyone think why this would be happening? Also why are so many error packets occurring?
can anyone help with this issue. I really have no idea why so much traffic is occurring.
Hi,
If ether3 is your LAN interface then your PC sent over 400GB to RB800.
So check your PC/Windows.

Thanks for your reply - yes eth3 is my LAN connection but this occurs only when connected to the rb800.
If I connect it to my other router, than this doesn’t happen. So it must be something on the RB800
Install wireshark, capture the traffic and go from there.
I’ve actually upgraded the OS to 4.9 and this has fixed the issue no more packet spamming as before - So it must have been something on the RB800?
