Suggest Wireless AP

Hello,

we need to have Wi-Fi covering a yard of the multistoried building (9 stories). Most likely it would be installed outside on the street.
Yard’s dimensions are approximately 60x90 meters. Would be great, if it would work even on higher stories of the buildings (not inside the apartments, though).

Wi-Fi AP can be installed either in point A or point B.
Point A is more preferable, though.

I think that 5 GHz is a Must Have, so that we don’t interfere with people’s home Wi-FI networks.
Can you suggest some AP from Mikrotik which can suite our needs?

90meters = 270 feet…
Either way people at the far end will not have enough juice in cell phones to get a decent connection.
Would suggest you put an AP at either end.

Something like this maybe…

Not an outdoor wifi expert so this is a pure guess but I like the antenna coverage etc…

( two should do it but you may need an omni additions to cover the corners??

Put 3 mANTBox 52 15s and for outdoor and near the entrace you solve.

I believe that is what I suggested LOL. Just confirming my wild assed guess with a professional experienced opinion based on experience I presume!

I third the mANTBox 52 15s product as solutions.

I would go with four(4) units. Due to the beam width of these antenna’s. Two mounted at point A, the other Two at point B..

Only issue would be people in the middle of the yard, coverage will fall off from the antennas. In perfect world, you should also deploy an omni type antenna in the center of the yard to have overlapping coverage . Unsure of your user requirements or how important wifi connection is for this deployment.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Is 52 15s much better than ordinary 15s?

I see that 52 15s supports also 2.4GHz, which is not really required for us. But they also have different CPUs and even architecture of those.
Is there any significant difference between the two?

If you don’t need 2.4GHz, get the 19s version instead because it has an even better antenna and can receive a better signal from the clients.

Your suggestion is RIGHT, my suggestion is for the mANT model able ALSO to run at same time 5GHz and 2,4GHz (not choice one like “Metal 52”, but both at same time)

@Cablenut: True! But is hard remove 2,4GHz and cover near the entrace of the shops…

mANT 15s : 120° 15dBi H+V 5GHz a/n/ac

mANT 19s : 120° 19dBi H+V 5GHz a/n/ac

mANT 52 15s : 60° 15dBi H+V 5GHz a/n/ac + 90° 12dBi H+V 2,4 b/g/n

Ruckus T310s placed as needed.
