Suggestion: Filter rule logs

Hi,
since a couple of month i’m investigating your work. I own a 2011 at home and tested many things … you’ve done good work and waiting for V6.0.
I’ve heared from many customers that they have to save there money. Your Products are a very good alternative
due to other solutions (Watchguard, Juniper) but with a seperate smtp/proxy Server, cause you do not provide any Webblocker or Antivirus Services … :wink: .

It would be nice if there would be logs available where we can see wich policy allow/deny traffic through the router for a connection … and also to define custom Portgroups which can be defined in firewall rules.

There are workarounds/MirkroTik’s own way for these purposes at the moment.

Before a filter rule you can have the same rule with action=log and log prefix so it will be available in the logs. I use this a lot.

Instead of port lists at the moment you can put a lot of ports in a single firewall rule.
