I am planning on putting together a setup with an R52a to do ptp and ptmp with just a few stations connected.
I usually do ub for wireless and mt for routing but ub can’t do the frequencies I want (not FCC approved for 5240-5580) but it looks like the R52a is.
Would it be advisable to just continue using the ub sectors and rocket dish or do something else? ub is waiting for FCC approval for those bands so if I did ub antennas I would be able to re-use them if ub ever gets the FCC approval.
If not, then what is a good choice in radio that is comparable in gain/quality/price? to the ub sectors and rocket dish?
Mikrotik works just fine with the UB dishes and aerials. Aerials and dishes is designed for a curtain frequency and wattage and as such any maker of radio equipment will function, as long as they are in range of the designed frequency and watts.
I discovered UBTik HP @ baltic networks , looks pretty good. Wish there was a similar setup with an rb711, or there was something similar to a rb411 that did larger frames than 1524, I need an MTU of 1527. The Groove looks interesting but it has just 1 antenna connector and cant do MIMO. If there was a groove ‘duo’ or something that could do MIMO and had the current MTU of 2030, or at lease 1527, I would be quite happy.
Anyway, the UBTik will get me into the 5100Ghz range which is available to me at this tower, I still plan on ubiquiti 5.75-5.85 on most of the second tier towers.
