Hello Mikrotik peeps
I was just thinking today as I was getting ready to go to lunch. Would it seem reasonable to check which fast path handler is engaged on which interface?
So every interface would have all of the fast path handlers that are currently working (IPv4, Traffic Generator, MPLS, Bridge) in little check boxes. Or, maybe instead of check boxes there can be a string field in the “Status” tab much like an ethernet interface having an “Autonegotiation” field or “Rate” field or a bridge interface has a “Port Count field”. The new fastpath field would just say, “Fast Path:” and then the string field. Within the string field the options could be None if there are no fast path handlers engaged and if there are to have them listed in there (with ,<1 space>,<1 space> format) with which handler is currently working on that interface.
I’m thinking that would help out a lot in regards to troubleshooting CPU utilization due to packet forwarding on many platforms that don’t have an overabundance of CPU power…
Just an idea for the next V6 RC.
