I live in the countryside, with poor 4G/LTE signal at home. Signal is ok on the roof, so I want to install an LTE antenna and modem on a pole, and use wifi at home.
There are no obstacles between the antenna and cell towers, but cell towers are between 8 km and 12 km far away.
Would you suggest SXT LTE6 or LGH LTE6 ? Will SXT be enough to get a good signal ?
Depends on what speeds you need. What reception figures do you get now (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR)?
If you have no obstructions and okay reception now, then either device should do the trick.
Please first go near to tower, check what Bands he running and what speed you can get from it when you have perfect situation like ~500m distance of it.
Test should be band by band, next with ca.
When you know what Bands are in your country, at your ISP and others.
SXTR have got worse gain then LHGR who have only 700/800/900Mhz weak.
With big distance you should think about parabolic external antenna, for mimo 2x2 they are options like:
Check RBM11G or wAPR kit … that mix maybe good for you.
I hope to give you idea, I cannot recommend LHGR only because maybe you even not connect to BTS, I don’t know that.
maybe try search in your area some person with MikroTik LHGR, check MikroTik’s FaceBook group at your county.
