Suggestions for netPower 16P wall mounting

Hello,

I’ve got a project in which I’ll have to feed power and connectivity to 12 WiFi Access Points per floor.
In each floor, Ive got a small surface (30x30 cm) to wall mount everything (ie PoE switch and power supply).

I’m inclined to use a netPower 16P with a MeanWell NDR-240-48 power supply.
This DIN rail mountable power supply provides 240W-48V power.

A netPower 16P is quite heavy device (I would estimate it 3kg abd this figure is missing from the device datasheet).
For wall mounting, you have to hang the device over two screws inserted into the wall and then add two more screws from within the space that protect cables.
While this works, I’m looking for alternatives that would allow non-technician to replace the device without using a screw driver.
I’m thinking of mounting everything (netPower and its power supply) on one DIN rail (or two ?).

Any idea, comment or suggestions on how to do this ?

Currently, I’m thinking of using a single (wooden, plastic or metal) board that on one side, would be fixed on the back of the netPower, and, on the other side, would receive two DIN Rail clips.
Thoughts ?

Best Regards

The package is 3.1 Kg:

so yes, 3 Kg is roughly correct.

The problem with DIN rail mounting of such a large device is not weight (provided that the rail is properly fixed to the wall and that the clips are not fixed too off from the center of gravity as to not transmit to much torque to the rail , it won’t be an issue) is that the spring loaded retainer (safer/sturdier than the “push/lift and pull” kind) will be behind the device and not easily reachable with ordinary tools.

I.e. you do not want a clip like these:

but one like this:

In similar cases I have seen installers simply adding a loop of electrical wire tie to the release lever, but it is ugly if the install is in view and not inside a cabinet or something.

Pre-made plates however do exist, example:
https://www.winford.com/products/dinp05-6080a.php
they use clips that can be released both by pulling the retainer from below and by pushing from above, and for the latter a simple flat piece of something (or a short piece of din rail) can be used to release them.

So if you make your own plate, make sure to get this kind of clips.

BTW oversized (long) ones do exist (example):
https://e-products.entaniya.co.jp/en/list/din-rail-mount/din-rail-mounting-clip-clamp-for-35mm-2/
but it has to be seen if they are long enough for the size of the needed plate.

Thank you very much for your very informative and useful reply !
I’ll check if the mentioned references are available in Europe.
